filmpro has received funding from the Arts Council to deliver a programme of four major digital commissions for emerging disabled artists (fOC), the project runs from now until November 2020.
filmpro has a unique position in the arts ecology as a disabled people led digital arts agency. Our mission is to extend the ways of making and experiencing digital art, our understanding of digital art is broad. The commissions will address the barriers that disabled artists face when producing for online exhibition. Each commission will be for an emerging disabled artist matched with a mentor.
The Administrator will assist in the processing of applications for the commissions, the selection process and contracting. The first commission is scheduled to start on 10/8/20 and the Administrator will help support the team, the commissioned artists and mentors.
This role would suit someone in the early stages of a career in arts management. Experience of Microsoft Office, Zoom and Dropbox is essential as is the ability to prioritise, work under pressure, self start, set priorities and work with a close attention to detail. A knowledge of arts production would be an advantage and a demonstrated commitment to diversity in the arts is essential.
The initial freelance agreement for the Administrator is for 1 day a week for 8 weeks running from week beginning 6/7/20 to week beginning 30/8/20. The Administrator will be asked to work either Tuesdays or Thursdays. This role is likely to start initially as remote working but will be based in our Studio in Stockwell (London) when it is Covid safe to do so, following government guidelines.
Additional days may be requested for this period dependant on funding.
filmpro is also running an organisational development programme and we will be recruiting for an Administrator as a staff member, working for 12 months from 1/9/20. The Administrator for fOC will be considered for this role if wanted, but there will be a wider recruitment process. The salary for the staff position will be £19,000 pro rata.
We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and disabled candidates, as we are under-represented within the arts sector.
